Sevilla are working on a deal to sign Nigerian-born striker George Ilenikhena, who holds the record as the youngest Nigerian-born goalscorer in Champions League history. Sevilla face competition for the services of Ilenikhena, with West Ham United and Schalke 04 also credited with an interest Ilenikhena etched his name into the history books on December 13, 2023, when he scored the decisive goal in Antwerp's 3-2 victory over Barcelona in the Champions League. According to ABC, Sevilla are working on a deal for the 19-year-old as they look to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new LaLiga season. The Spanish club are reportedly exploring a loan move for the promising forward. Ilenikhena joined Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad from Monaco in February 2026 and made six appearances for the Jeddah-based club, starting just one game. The teenager is reportedly open to returning to European football just months after leaving France, a factor that could work in Sevilla’s favour as they pursue his signature. Ilenikhena is under contract with Al-Ittihad until the end of the 2028-29 season. Akor Adams swapped Sevilla for Venezia last month, while another Super Eagles forward Chidera Ejuke is heavily linked with a departure from the club before the transfer window closes for business.
