Tottenham are looking at alternatives after Eli Junior Kroupi has been ruled out for months following foot surgery.
Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes, Martin Dubravka, Jan Paul van Hecke, Marcos Senesi and Andy Robertson have been the six major signings for Tottenham Hotspur so far this summer.
It is encouraging to see the North Londoners showing ambition in the transfer market, especially with their arch-rivals also strengthening their squads. Spurs are now on the lookout for attackers to address the creativity and goalscoring problems of last season.
Roberto de Zerbi is eager to reshape his forward line ahead of the 2026/27 season. The Italian tactician recently revealed that a new transfer ‘bomba’ is expected soon, while also hinting his club have completed only 60 per cent of their transfer business.
Bournemouth’s Eli Junior Kroupi was being pursued by Tottenham since the start of July. Unfortunately, he suffered a metatarsal injury in training earlier this week and will undergo operation, ruling the Frenchman out of action for three to four months. A blow then for Spurs, although all is not lost, with alternatives lined up.
Tottenham have shortlisted Hoffenheim striker Fisnik Asllani
According to an exclusive report from TEAMtalk, Tottenham have identified Hoffenheim striker Fisnik Asllani as one of Kroupi’s alternative targets. The other two on the shortlist are Ferran Torres of Barcelona and Club Brugge starlet Nicolo Tresoldi.
One of the highly-rated young forwards in the Bundesliga, Fisnik Asllani netted 11 goals and supplied 10 assists for Hoffenheim in 35 matches last season. This has sparked Tottenham’s interest in the Kosovan international. Hoffenheim protected their prized asset earlier this year by extending his contract until 2029.
The 23-year-old’s numbers on the international stage read four goals in 16 appearances for Kosovo, and with more time, maturity and exposure, they are only going to get better. The North Londoners could do well with the centre-forward’s finishing, having heavily relied on Richarlison for goals last season. Asllani would provide Tottenham with a focal point in attack whilst also being a long-term replacement for Richarlison.
At 23, the Hoffenheim man could be a long-term acquisition for Tottenham while also helping add much-needed firepower to De Zerbi’s squad. He is a modern centre-forward who could flourish brilliantly around creative talents such as James Maddison, Mohammed Kudus and Dejan Kulusevski.
With Kroupi’s chase over, Tottenham must go all out to sign Asllani to fortify their forward unit.
