Kevin Carlos was one of two Nigeria-eligible strikers put on the chopping block by French Ligue 1 club OGC Nice, with Super Eagles' 2026 Unity Cup captain Terem Moffi the other. The Ceuta native has departed OGC Nice on a temporary basis, with the Eagles officially confirming on Monday afternoon that they have have reached an agreement with Cagliari for the loan of Carlos, with an option to buy included in the agreement. The 25-year-old transferred to OGC Nice last summer, signing a contract until 2030. However, he struggled to establish himself as a regular starter, making just nine starts in Ligue 1 and registering one assist. Carlos is a product of Huesca, making his senior debut for the Spanish club in the Copa del Rey in 2020. After a loan spell at Real Betis reserve team, he joined Swiss side Yverdon in 2023 and enjoyed a breakthrough campaign, scoring 14 goals to finish as the league's top scorer for the 2023-2024 season. He moved to Basel in 2024, helping the club win the Super League and Swiss Cup while scoring 14 goals in 36 games. His impressive form earned him a move to Nice, where he scored his first goal against Fenerbahçe in the Europa League in October 2025. Ifeanyi Emmanuel
