Report: Spurs forward poised to move to Belgium after underwhelming Portsmouth and Coventry loan stints Minyheok Yang will be hoping his latest loan move will let him forget his 2025-26 troubles at Pompey and Coventry Minyheok Yang is once again packing his bags. Fresh from a 2025-26 campaign that saw the Spurs forward play for both Pompey and Coventry on loan, the 20-year-old is on the brink of his third transfer in the space of 12 months. According to respected Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri, who broke the news on Freddie Potts’ switch to Club Brugge last week, the South Korea international is poised to make KVC Westerlo his latest temporary home. Yang was reportedly in Belgium on Monday morning to complete his medical with the Belgian Pro League side, who lost their season opener at home to Union Saint-Gilloise 5-1 on Saturday. The move comes after Spurs sanctioned another stint away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, which has been the young winger’s home since transferring from Gangwon in January 2025. In total Yang has already spent three periods out on loan from the Premier League outfit, with QPR quickly snapping him up following his move to north London 18 months ago. While with the Championship side over the second half of the 2024-25 season, the winger registered two goals and an assist in 12 appearances. His season-long loan move to Pompey at the start of the 2025-26 campaign was meant to see the player kick on with five months of Championship football already under his belt. However, while clearly gifted, Yang was not suited to the relegation battle the Blues found themselves in. Indeed, Spurs terminated his Fratton Park stay in January, with the forward’s 98th-minute winner from the bench against Charlton his parting gift to Pompey. A move to Coventry was considered a better fit for his talents as Frank Lampard’s Sky Blues raced towards the Championship title and a return to the top flight. But if Tottenham were unhappy with Yang’s game time at PO4, which amounted to 16 appearances in all competition and just nine second-tier starts, they would have been bitterly disappointed with his subsequent development at the CBS Arena. Come the end of the season, the South Korea forward featured just four times for the Sky Blues and hadn’t been part of their final 15 games of the season. Indeed, four appearances and just 29 minutes of match action was all Yang was afforded by the Championship winners, a factor which would have contributed to him missing out on selection for this summer’s World Cup. Since then, Yang has featured three times for Spurs in pre-season. However, he’ll not be adding to that total any time soon as he looks to kick-start his fledging career with the side currently sat bottom of the Belgian Pro League. Yang is under contract at Spurs until 2030.
