Portsmouth chairman Michael Eisner set for first Fratton Park visit of 2026
The Blues chairman is set for his third Fratton Park visit since April 2025
Michael Eisner will see the fruits of his increased spending when he visits Fratton Park for the first time in nine months.
Pompey’s chairman is scheduled to be in attendance for their Championship opener against QPR on Saturday.
Now aged 84, Eisner often flies in from America to take in an early-season fixture - and his latest trip is expected to see him joined by a number of his family.
The last time he was present for a Blues match was in November 2025, when John Mousinho’s men played out a goalless draw against Wrexham.
Pompey had entered that league match off the back of three successive defeats and no goals, with the point earned against the Red Dragons keeping them in 20th place.
Abu Kamara homecoming
Certainly optimism will be higher on Saturday, with Eisner to be present for Abu Kamara’s eagerly-anticipated homecoming after two seasons away with Hull and Getafe.
It will also offer an opportunity for the former Disney chief executive to see at first hand the summer recruitment driven by his biggest outlay on players since Tornante became owners in August 2017.
Kamara, Marko Milovanovic and Rocco Shein are among seven newcomers to date, with Jesper Ceesay and Ryan Kavuma-McQueen also potentially arriving before Saturday.
Eric Eisner back for first time since May
Eric Eisner previously attended the Blues’ final match of the 2025-26 campaign in May, which resulted in a 1-1 draw with Birmingham.
As the sole representative of the Eisner family on that trip, at the time he held key meetings with Andy Cullen, Rich Hughes and John Mousinho, with Pompey’s Championship survival having already been secured.
In the build up to those talks, Mousinho had called upon Tornante to provide increased investment to match the Championship ambitions of himself - and supporters.
Subsequently, the head coach was handed a 16 per cent increase in his playing budget, while the club’s transfer kitty has also been ramped up, reflected by summer transfer business so far.
Pompey’s season kicked off last weekend with a 3-1 defeat at West Ham in the first round of the Carabao Cup, having conceded three goals in seven minutes.
Now attention turns to their Championship opener, with QPR the Fratton Park opposition, beginning a period which also includes fixtures with Lincoln (August 22), Bristol City (August 29) and Derby (September 1).
And Saturday will represent Michael Eisner’s third Fratton Park trip since April 2025 as the family mark nine years as owners.
