While there were both highs and lows, a strong spell over Christmas and an impressive end to the campaign does offer a firm starting block to build off. Despite that, caution still remains around Blackpool ahead of their League One opener against Wycombe Wanderers this weekend - which is being welcomed by Evatt. “Everyone should be cautious,” he said in his press conference last week. “I didn’t like our attitude last season, from the outside and from when I came in. It was almost like we were entitled to be at the top of the league because we are who we are and we signed who we signed. “No one has that God given entitlement, it’s something you’ve got to earn in football. “I like the fact that we’ve been humbled. I like the fact we’re cautious. This club performs better as an underdog, I’ve always said that. “I’m happy with the caution, but we have our own goals and aspirations that we’re looking forward to trying to achieve this season.”
