Elliot Stroud says playing in the Premier League will fulfil a lifelong dream after he signed for Hull City ahead of their return to the top-flight after a decade. The Swedish wing-back completed his move from Mjällby over the weekend and will train this week with the rest of the Tigers squad as they build towards Saturday's final friendly of the summer against French Ligue 1 side Nice. Stroud joins City fresh from the World Cup, where he played in all four of Sweden's games, before ultimately being knocked out by France in the round of 32. JOIN US ON FACEBOOK! Latest Hull City news and analysis on our Hull Live FB page Though the move took a lot longer than expected to be completed, largely because of Mjällby's involvement in the European qualifiers, Stroud is pleased to get his move to England over the line. “I am super happy and super excited to get started here. When I first heard of the interest, it was the only thing I wanted to do," the Swede said. "I spoke with the chairman, and I got an even better impression of the club and everything around it. “I have individual hopes to play at the highest level possible. When an opportunity like this comes, it’s not something you take lightly. To do it here in Hull is a very exciting opportunity. “I had a fantastic time at Mjällby. We had an amazing run, won the cup, the league. I felt I was ready for the next chapter, and I’m really looking forward to making some statements here as well. “The World Cup was an amazing experience. To represent your country in a World Cup is the biggest honour you can have as a player. To play for the Sweden national team is something I am very proud of. “It was a dream of mine to play in the Premier League.
