Sergej Jakirovic has declared himself pleased with how his Hull City side is progressing, less than two weeks out from the start of the Premier League season, though his message to the club’s hierarchy is strikingly similar to 12 months ago. We cannot switch off. “This is a goal at this level. In the Bundesliga, Premier League, and Premiera Liga, this is a goal. You have to be concentrating for 90 plus minutes, maximum concentration if you want to stop these kinds of situations” Jakirovic’s side have just one more public outing before the big kick-off, with former French Ligue 1 champions Nice the visitors to East Yorkshire on Saturday afternoon, and he knows quality new faces must arrive, and it's hoped that by the time the game kicks off, a raft of new signings will have been confirmed. “I think we are in a good way, we just have to add some qualities, so we are chasing that,” he told Hull Live. “We have this core from the Championship, which the boys know everything that they need to do in some parts of the pitch, but we need to add some qualities, and I hope we will bring that. And then it's my job to find a balance between the new arrivals and old players, so this is my job, I hope, so just give me the tools” The Tigers boss was impressed with what he saw on debut from Konstantinos Tzolakis in Frankfurt, playing 90 of the 120-minute contest. “I think he was very good,” Jakirovic said of the Greek international. “He did everything that I expected, from what I’ve seen before.
