Hull City remain on course to boost their squad with a fresh batch of new players, and answer Sergej Jakirovic's call to add more quality ahead of the Premier League's big kick-off on Saturday week. Sources initially suggested a bid hadn't been placed, but later it was confirmed to Hull Live that a £10m bid had been lodged. The Slovenian bagged 23 goals in the second tier last season, but it's thought the Welsh side want closer to £20m, which the Tigers will not pay. As first reported by Hull Live, discussions with Everton over Tim Iroegbunam continue in the hope of sealing a deal for the young midfielder, and the Tigers have not given up hope of signing Yeremay Hernández from Spanish side Deportivo La Coruna, but face significant competition from huge clubs in Europe, while they are close to agreeing a deal for a right-back from the continent. Meanwhile, Abu Kamara's move back to Portsmouth has been confirmed, with the winger signing a three-year contract at Fratton Park, with the Tigers receiving around £2.5m.
