Bertrand Traore is set to make a comeback at Wolverhampton Wanderers after successfully completing a medical. Journalist Sebastien Denis report that Traore ‘makes a comeback’ at Wolves. He has now officially signed his contract at Molineux. He states that Traore has signed a one-year deal with Wolves. However, that includes an option for another year if Wolves are promoted back to the Premier League. The winger will arrive on a free transfer after leaving Sunderland in the summer. The 30-year-old has already successfully completed a medical ahead of the move. England career continues The move will be the latest step in what has now been a varied carer for the winger, particularly in England. He first moved to the Premier League in 2012 when he joined Chelsea’s U21 side. He progressed to the first team at Stamford Bridge before various loan spells in the Netherlands – first at Vitesse then Ajax. A move to Lyon came in 2017 and he stayed there for three years before joining Aston Villa for £18.4m. That lasted two years before a loan spell at Basaksehir. He then left Aston Villa to join Villarreal on a free transfer before joining Ajax five months later. Sunderland experience That lasted a year before Sunderland brought him back to the Premier League last summer as part of their rebuild following promotion back to the Premier League. The winger was part of a double deal with Ajax that included Brian Brobbey. But unlike the striker, Bertrand Traore struggled for game time at the Stadium of Light. He managed just 13 appearances totalling 702 minutes in all competitions for the Black Cats last season. He was in the starting 11 early on in the Premier League, but a knee injury meant his last appearance was two minutes in a win over Leeds in March. Sunderland then elected to not keep him at the club, leaving him free to join Wolves this summer.
