Enzo Fernandez made his Manchester City debut from the start in Saturday’s Premier League clash with Coventry due to a problem for Nico O’Reilly. City’s new £125million record signing was initially named among the substitutes four days after his big-money move from Chelsea. But O’Reilly suffered a problem during the warm-up at the Etihad Stadium, with the England international heading down the tunnel appearing to hold his back. That saw Fernandez promoted to a starting line-up that already included fellow deadline-day arrival Iliman Ndiaye – who took the place of Phil Foden in the only other change from Friday’s 4-1 win at Crystal Palace. City made Fernandez, 25, the joint most expensive signing in Premier League history to complete a midfield makeover following the departures of Rodri and Bernardo Silva this summer.
