An Unorthodox Career
Ravizzoli was born in Mar del Plata and came through the youth setups at Independiente, Quilmes and River Plate before moving into senior football in Argentina. He later spent time with Merlo and Morón, and also trained with Valencia before deciding to head to England.
He then joined Eastbourne Borough in 2020, where he enjoyed a stellar two seasons before moving to Milton Keynes Dons a year later, where he made his EFL Cup debut and later his first league start. After leaving MK Dons, he signed for Wycombe Wanderers, where he enjoyed regular game time across two seasons at Adams Park before, in 2023, he was offered a new deal at the end of the 2023-24 season but left the club as a free agent.
Ravizzoli later joined Blackpool on a two-year contract in June last year; however only managed four League One appearances last season before arriving at newly relegated Leicester City.
“I just knew I couldn’t turn the opportunity down”
Speaking to Leicester City’s official website, Ravizzoli expressed his delight about joining the Foxes.
On The Up?
Leicester City will be hoping to halt their decline after back-to-back relegations, a stark contrast to their Premier League title triumph just 10 years ago. Under former Southampton manager Russell Martin, they have already added several impressive permanent signings for League One, including winger Wes Burns from Ipswich Town, who brings experience, while Liam Cullen and Conor Chaplin add creativity and finesse.
They have also strengthened with the loan arrivals of Tommy Watson and Christian McFarlane as they prepare for a crucial season at the King Power Stadium with the aim of an immediate departure from League One . The signing of Franco Ravizzoli provides Martin with a solid EFL goalkeeper who can challenge both Jakub Stolarczyk and Alex McCarthy for the starting role.
