Jake Evans has signed a new three-year contract with Leicester City and will spend the 2026/27 season on loan at League Two side Cheltenham Town. The forward, who has been at the club since Under-9s level, made his first team debut in the Premier League against Brighton & Hove Albion in April 2025. He made a further three appearances in the top-flight before spending the second half of last season with Northampton Town. Evans scored twice in League One as the Cobblers were relegated to the fourth tier. He featured regularly under Russell Martin in pre-season but was left out of the squad for Saturday's 1-0 Carabao Cup win over Northampton. FOLLOW ON FACEBOOK! "I'm over the moon to be here," he said. "I have spoken to the gaffer on a few occasions now and I can't help but feel excited and ready to go. "I have had a taste of senior football and I just want more, I can’t wait to play for the Gaffer and the Robins fans, I will give my all for this football club.” The new contract is a significant boost for Leicester, with Evans having further committed his future to the club after signing his first professional deal in October. Cheltenham kick-off their League Two campaign on Saturday against Rotherham United and Evans will be in contention to make his debut for the Robins.
