The club owner has certainly lived up to the promise so far, actively taking part in the mercato negotiations in the summer, working closely with the head coach Ruben Amorim. He has been present at the games too, sitting in the stands against Torino and Venezia. Third game in a row As reported by various sources, and virtually confirmed by his visit to Milanello earlier today, Cardinale will be present at Allianz Stadium for tomorrow’s game between Milan and Juventus. It’s a big one, so the pressure is on the Rossoneri to build on their positive start. Throughout the course of his tenure as the Milan owner, the thing that Cardinale has been criticised for the most is his absence. For large parts of the first four years of ownership, he spent most of his time in the United States and elsewhere, barely visiting Italy. As such, it’s nice to see him involve himself not just in the mercato negotiations and the overall planning of the club, but also in the training sessions and the games. That’s how it works in Italy and especially at Milan, given the influential days of Silvio Berlusconi. Of course, what decides the verdict at the end of a season is the league position and nothing else, so there is no cause for celebrations just because Cardinale is being more present.
