Juventus could beat the competition to Bologna defender Jhon Lucumi by proposing Teun Koopmeiners in a swap deal, as Premier League and Turkish teams are hesitant. The Bianconeri have made no secret of their interest in the Colombia international, but after the €28m release clause expired, the asking price remains in the region of €25m. As part of his arrival from Genk, Bologna owe them 20 per cent of the sale fee, so have no intention of lowering their demands, especially with so many clubs in the running for his signature. Koopmeiners loan part of Lucumi purchase La Gazzetta dello Sport note that Bologna don’t want to accept player exchanges, but could be tempted to change their tune if Koopmeiners were involved. A crucial element could be represented by director Gigi Sartori, who was with Atalanta when first bringing Koopmeiners to Serie A. The Dutchman had been hoping for a Premier League move, but so far none of the interest has flourished into a full-blown offer, while he seems uninterested in the Turkish Super Lig options. The report points out that Koopmeiners has a salary worth €4.5m, which would be the sum Bologna owe to Genk for the Lucumi sale at €20m. It is therefore feasible to loan him out with Juve covering the wages, therefore cancelling out the Lucumi money passed on to Belgium. Fabio Miretti and defender Juan Cabal had also been mentioned as a possible exchange from Juventus to Bologna.
