MN: To the wire - Milan exit talk could continue to the mercato's end for Leao

In a completely unideal situation, AC Milan may be left waiting until the end of the window for movement with Rafael Leao.
This window has not gone how anyone had hoped. In terms of incomings, there are a few missed targets, but you’d be relatively happy with how things have gone so far. However, past that, you’d worry.

Outgoings – what outgoings? – have not happened and certain players who were pushing for moves haven’t got them. Of course, we’re speaking about Leao here.
The Portuguese had dreams of the Premier League or La Liga. Instead, the Super Lig and the Saudi Pro League have been his only options and the star now wants to stay, according to reports.
Late for Leao
Despite this standpoint, it is clear that Milan are not closed off to a sale; after all, he made his stance clear. The timing could be an issue, though.
According to what MilanNews report this morning, a deal for Leao may only happen at the end of the mercato. Indeed, there have been no official offers from Galatasaray just yet and whilst they are ‘insisting’ on him, the demands of the Rossoneri are yet to be met.
It’s complex – as you’d expect for a transfer like this – but things could open up. We shall see, but it isn’t expected to happen any time soon. Gala have until September 4 to make a deal happen, three days after the closure of the Italian window. In other words, there’s time.
