Floydada earns first win since ‘24, wins Floyd County Championship 55-20

FLOYDADA, Texas (KCBD) - The Floydada Whirlwinds snapped an 18-game losing streak against their long-time rivals Lockney Longhorns 55-20 Friday night at Charles Tyer Stadium.

The Winds were off to an early lead with contributions from Dayne Smith, Jerald Henderson, and Brandyn Diaz.
Floydada will go for two wins in a row next Friday as the Winds take on the Smyer Bobcats. Lockney will host the Quanah Indians.
