According to transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano, Premier League newcomers Hull have reached an agreement with Rayo Vallecano after fresh talks. A medical for Mendy is said to have been booked and he now looks likely to be the next new addition to Sergej Jakirovic’s squad. Posting on X, Romano said: “Nobel Mendy deal, completed and agreed for Hull City after new talks with Rayo Vallecano over details. Medical booked and new signing done for HCAFC, here we go.” Mendy is a product of the Paris FC academy and has been plying his trade in Spain since 2023, when he first linked up with Betis. Hull City’s Premier League preparation Hull defied expectations to seal promotion from the Championship last season, defeating Middlesbrough 1-0 in the play-off final. It was a stunning achievement, but the realisation that their squad needed plenty of work soon set in. Hull have since made seven senior signings - recruiting goalkeepers Jack Butland and Konstantinos Tzolakis, defender Matt Targett, midfielders Hidemasa Morita, Oscar Zambrano and Jens Hjertø-Dahl and winger Eliot Stroud.
