It’s a good day to be a friend of the Crown. Rolex will be auctioning off 4 unique Cosmograph Daytonas—yes, you read that right—later this month, with the proceeds benefiting charities from brand testimonies Roger Federer and Leonardo DiCaprio. The striking one-offs, adorned with colored gems, each get their inspiration from one of the four seasons. The Crown rarely confirms that one of its creations is a unique, so the fact that a quartet is going up for grabs is undoubtedly going to send watch lovers into a frenzy—not to mention that they’re done so with one of their most beloved watches. But these are no ordinary Daytonas. Rolex has decked out each piece in either 18-karat yellow gold, Everose or white gold, or 950 platinum, as well as those vibrant gemstones. Spring starts things off with a bang, sporting a bright-green chrysoprase dial with baguette-cut and square-cut purple diamonds on hour markers paired alongside a bezel adorned with 36 trapeze-cut purple sapphires. The lugs, meanwhile, are set with 54 brilliant-cut diamonds. Similar size diamonds and gems are on all the other timepieces, too. Summer puts a turquoise dial on display, as well as glittering pink sapphires. As for Autumn, that Daytona rocks a mustard-colored mookaite dial with green tourmalines all around. Last but not least is Winter, of course, with its kaleidoscopic blue opal dial and a blue to fuchsia gradient of sapphires, along with diamond hour markers. The sale of each watch, overseen by Phillips, will go toward the tennis legend’s Federer Foundation, which aims to improve access to early and foundation learning for children in South Africa and Switzerland, and the Oscar-winning actor’s Re:Wild, which protects and restores wild ecosystems around the world. “True excellence is measured not only by the quality of our products, but also by the positive impact we can have on the world,” Jean-Frédéric Dufour, CEO of Rolex, said in a press statement. There’s no doubt that collectors will be clamoring to get their hands on one of these uniques, estimated to be worth 4 million CHF (around $5 million), according to Hodinkee. The battle—er, auction—will take place in London on September 28, 2026.
