Lucas Digne has insisted he is not panicking despite a rocky start to life at Paris Saint-Germain following his summer move from Aston Villa. Le Parisien have comments from the 33-year-old today. He’s set to spend the weekend on the sidelines after PSG left him out of their squad for the clash with Monaco. PSG’s decision has raised eyebrows, particularly because they remain without Nuno Mendes. Digne was brought in from Aston Villa this summer as his alternative, to ease pressure on the Portuguese full-back. PSG struggles But instead, a report today explained that he has been left out of the squad due to sporting reasons. His first few weeks at his new club have not gone well and now, he finds himself out of the picture. Luis Enrique has even resorted to using Lucas Hernandez and Warren Zaire-Emery, a midfielder, in the position instead of the former Aston Villa man. It seems, though, Lucas Digne is not concerned about the situation. In fact, he thinks it would be sad to start worrying after only three games. Digne unconcerned “You need time to adapt; there was no pre-season, the timeframe is quite short. I have to keep working like the rest of the team and ramp things up,” he said during a media day at the Poissy Campus. And when asked if he was worried about his personal situation, Digne remained stoic: “No, not at all. It’s a process of adaptation; it involves a lot of factors. If I were to worry after three games, that would be pretty sad.” Le Parisien, though, say his absence from the Monaco squad raises questions. The newspaper believes it serves as further proof that under Enrique, nobody is untouchable. That’s a philosophy he has stuck to and one which has brought success in Paris. Now even Digne has fallen foul of it. That’s PSG’s need for a left-back and his relationship with Enrique.
