Tottenham are scouring the transfer market for options to bolster their forward ranks. Tottenham Hotspur boss Roberto De Zerbi is being fully backed in this transfer window, and as much as £237million has been spent across six signings so far. The North London club’s intentions for the rest of the summer transfer window, at least with regards to incomings, appear likely to be bringing in a couple of wingers and a striker. It is no secret that talks between Spurs and Manchester City are ongoing for Savinho, who wants to become a part of De Zerbi’s revolution at White Hart Lane. As far as the striker situation is concerned, De Zerbi cannot rely on Dominic Solanke. The England international missed the recent pre-season friendly against Getafe after feeling pain in his ankle during the week. Richarlison, meanwhile, is into the final year of his contract and could be cashed in this summer amid Everton interest. This makes it evident why Spurs must invest in a new striker before the transfer window slams shut. Tottenham get boost in pursuit of Ligue 1 striker Recent reports suggest AS Monaco striker Folarin Balogun’s agents, via intermediaries, have approached Tottenham directly to make the club aware of the player’s availability. In a follow-up to that, an exclusive report from Football Insider suggests Folarin Balogun is open to leaving AS Monaco this summer after a strong World Cup campaign. The former Arsenal academy graduate has caught the attention of several clubs after an impressive season in Ligue 1 and a strong World Cup for co-hosts USA. The 25-year-old netted 13 goals in 30 league appearances for AS Monaco, before transforming that form at the biggest stage, where he bagged three goals in four World Cup outings. The Tottenham bosses have added Balogun to their striker shortlist. The New York-born talent is exploring a move away from the Principality Stadium and might be keen on a return to England. “He’s a player that’s going to be on the radar of a number of clubs. Monaco would be open to a sale for Balogun at the right price,” Pete O’Rourke exclusively said on the Transfer Insider podcast (h/t Football Insider). “I think the player himself will be interested in a move away from the principality if the right opportunity came up as well. He had a good World Cup with the USA and a decent season for Monaco. “I don’t think there’s anything too imminent on a possible move for him. He’s just one of those players that’s on the radar for Tottenham.” Balogun would be a smart option to boost Tottenham’s attacking ranks Tottenham are actively evaluating several options across Europe to ensure adequate competition and depth alongside Solanke. Balogun’s appeal has grown substantially in the last 12-15 months thanks to his goalscoring exploits in Monaco colours. And his reputation was further enhanced at the World Cup, leading to interest from several clubs including Spurs. As the 25-year-old has two years remaining on his contract, Monaco are in a strong position to ask for a high fee. But if Balogun pushes to leave, it could work in favour of the Lilywhites to get a cut-price deal.
