Brighton Team News
Speaking before Brighton vs Leeds United, Fabian Hurzeler confirmed that Mats Wieffer’s knee injury will keep him out of the side until ‘after the international break.’
He added that both midfielder Yasin Ayari and former Leeds man Georginio Rutter will require a late fitness test to see if they can feature on Saturday.
On deadline day signings Femi Azeez and Chema Andres, the German said they were both ‘great characters’, and that Andres ‘can definitely be an option’ against the Whites.
Azeez arrived on the South Coast carrying a knock, but Hurzeler says he hopes to have the 25-year-old winger fit ‘for the next game.’

In his pre-match press conference, Leeds boss Daniel Farke confirmed Joe Rodon will be out for up to ten weeks with a ‘serious hamstring injury.’ He added: “It’s a big blow because he is a key player for us.”
The German also said he will decide when the right time is for left-back Gabriel Gudmundsson to return to the team, with the Swede an unused substitute in last weekend’s draw to Brentford.
On the deadline day signings of Melvin Bard and Jean-Matteo Bahoya, he said both may be included in Saturday’s squad, and that he was ‘pleased’ with the business. He added that full-back Bard is “an experienced player on a really good level,” whilst Bahoya is an “exciting young project.”
When asked about opponents Brighton, Farke said: “Many new players but the DNA is still there. The same manager, the same processes and style of play.
“They had an impressive start to the season. They are in good shape.”

The Last Word: Match Prediction
Leeds have not won away at Brighton since 2009 and have failed to score in their last eight visits to the South Coast, spelling trouble for Farke’s men. The Whites have played more matches without winning at the Amex than at any other ground in the club’s entire history, a record they will have to forget as they prepare for Saturday.
Only Chelsea have matched Brighton’s tally of seven goals so far, and only Arsenal have conceded fewer league goals than Leeds, so spectators can expect a fascinating tactical battle. With the Seagulls’ long injury list meaning key players Kaoru Mitoma, Yankuba Minteh and Jack Hinshelwood are all unavailable, Farke’s side will fancy their chances of picking up a result on the South Coast.
Prediction: Brighton 1-1 Leeds
