Derby County have confirmed the addition of Nicholas Bilokapic to their goalkeeping ranks.
The Australian shot-stopper has joined the Rams on a one-year deal following the termination of his contract with Ipswich Town over the summer.
At 23 years old, Bilokapic will add depth and EFL experience to the shot-stopping unit at Moor Farm Training Centre, despite his young age, having played in the Sky Bet Championship, League One and League Two.
He moved into English football in February 2020 when Huddersfield Town brought him into their academy set-up, departing Sydney United in his native Australia.
A loan move to Hartlepool in 2021/22 saw him gain his first senior experience, featuring twice in the fourth tier.
The following campaign, Bilokapic made six appearances in the Championship with his parent club – where he worked with the Rams’ Head of Goalkeeping, Paul Clements.
In 2023, a permanent move to Peterborough United allowed for regular first-team football, as he played 46 matches across two seasons in League One with the Posh before moving to Ipswich last season.
Bilokapic also has international experience at youth level, having received call-ups for the Australian Under-17 and Under-23 squads.
Clements’ First Team goalkeeping group, while helping maintain and boost the levels on the training field.
Welcome to Derby, Nicholas.
