Tottenham have been aiming to add to their forward line before the September 1 deadline.
The incomings at Tottenham Hotspur have slowed down since the record signing of Sandro Tonali a month ago from Newcastle United.
Spurs still remain in the market for attacking reinforcements but so far have not managed to get any through the door. Manchester City’s Savinho remains their top target, and despite negotiations ongoing for two months, there hasn’t been a breakthrough. Manchester City are prepared to accept an offer in the region of £60 million for Savinho, as Roberto De Zerbi looks to reshape his squad.
The Italian tactician recently confirmed that the Lilywhites would preferably want to complete two or three new signings in the attacking areas of the pitch before the transfer window slams shut.
Tottenham preparing an offer for Galatasaray star
Recent reports suggest Tottenham are battling Everton to sign Galatasaray forward Baris Alper Yilmaz. Everton have already seen a €35m bid rejected for the Turkiye international, with Galatasaray valuing the prized asset in the region of €50m.
Now, according to a report from Turkish outlet ABC Gazetesi, Tottenham are preparing an offer worth around €50m for the 26-year-old to test Galatasaray’s resolve. The Istanbul giants have made it clear that they would only entertain ‘concrete offers’, which could now arrive from North London.
Baris Alper Yilmaz is rated among the best wingers in the Turkish Super Lig. He has consistently delivered the goods for Galatasaray in recent years, whilst catching the eye with his speed, directness, flair, unpredictability and goalscoring quality. He has racked up 37 goals and 36 assists in 205 appearances for the Turkish champions.
The versatile forward has two years left on his contract at Rams Park, but Galatasaray are open to listening to offers for him this summer. De Zerbi needs bodies who can handle a fixture list that will stretch his squad across a Premier League season, as well as domestic cup competitions. Yilmaz may not have Premier League experience, but he has already tasted the Champions League with Gala. So, he is a player who is robust enough to add quality depth to De Zerbi’s attacking ranks.
A versatile winger who can play across the frontline, and contribute goals and assists will give the Spurs gaffer tactical flexibility and allow him to use him as per the requirements of the games. The Premier League’s physical and tactical demands are a step up from the Turkish Super Lig, and plenty of talented imports have needed time to adjust to the hustle and bustle of English football.
In Yilmaz’s case, it won’t be any different if he arrives.
