Amedspor have officially confirmed the signing of Super Eagles winger Yira Sor from Belgian Pro League side Genk, adding another Nigerian international to their squad ahead of the new Turkish Super Lig season. The newly promoted club announced the transfer on Monday through its official social media platforms with the message, “Welcome Yira Sor,” confirming the long-awaited move for the 26-year-old winger. Sor had been expected to leave Genk this summer after spending the past three-and-a-half years with the Belgian club. He joined Genk from Slavia Prague in January 2023, but his time in Belgium was affected by injury setbacks that limited his opportunities. The Nigerian international will now begin a new chapter in Turkey with Amedspor, who secured promotion to the Turkish top flight for the first time in their history. Sor's arrival also means he will link up with fellow Nigerian forward Gift Orban, who recently joined Amedspor on a season-long loan from Bundesliga club Hoffenheim. The partnership gives Amedspor two Nigerian attackers as they prepare for their first campaign in the Turkish Super Lig.
