BOLTON Wanderers boss Steven Schumacher admitted Millwall’s injury problems make it difficult to predict their starting line-up. Bolton take on depleted Millwall at The Den on Saturday (kick-off 3pm), three days after the Lions lost 3-0 to Wrexham. Alex Neil’s side are without twelve first-team players, two of whom, Casper De Norre and Josh Coburn, went down against the Welsh side. Neil hopes to have Tairyk Arconte and Kyrell Lisbie back for this weekend’s clash, although he admitted it was unclear whether they would be ready yet. Deadline day additions Romain Esse and Filip Marschall will be available for selection. Speaking to Bolton News, Schumacher was asked if Millwall’s lengthy injury list made it more difficult to prepare for the game. “It is difficult because you see the issues that they had before the game, then you see a few issues that they had during the game yesterday, and trying to guess what their starting lineup is going to be or trying to guess what their formation or system is going to be is difficult,” Schumacher said. “But what we do know is no matter what it is, it’s going to be a hard game because it’s one of the toughest places to go in the league. Their record last year there was outstanding. They finished third in the league. They’re a top team and have had two really good results to start this season and two that have gone against them for whatever reasons. We go there understanding the challenge, knowing that we’re going to have to be at our best to get a result from it.” Bolton, promoted from League One last season, have had a mixed start upon their return to the Championship. The Trotters kicked off the season with a 2-1 win over Preston North End, drew 0-0 with Queens Park Rangers, then suffered back-to-back defeats, 1-0 to fellow new boys Lincoln City and 3-2 to Sheffield United. The most recent loss was particularly painful – Romelle Donovan scored a 93rd-minute winner for the Blades. Despite playing in a higher division, Schumacher has retained the aggressive style of play that helped Bolton achieve promotion last season. “It’s what I like to do as a coach,” Schumacher said. “I don’t like to sit there and go, ‘We’re going to be pragmatic and boring.’ We want to go and have a go and try and test Millwall. “Now, what we can’t be is naive and go gung ho, leave ourselves open and exposed, or take unnecessary risks in our own final third. But we want to be adventurous. We want to try to play a style that gives us a chance to win, and the players we’ve got in our squad are recruited to go and attack. So that’s what we’ll try and do.”
