De Witt Claims Bronze & Dinard Takes Fourth In Mixed Eight At U23 World Championships

DUISBURG, Germany – Rutgers' Femke de Witt earned a bronze medal with the Netherlands' mixed eight on Sunday at the 2026 U23 World Rowing Championships.
De Witt, a rising junior at Rutgers, and her Netherlands teammates came in third in a time of 5:52.32, coming in .74 seconds behind runner-up Romania and 1.49 seconds behind the gold medal-winning USA boat.
Rutgers teammate, rising senior Louise Dinard, also competed in the mixed eight as France claimed fourth, crossing a half-second behind the Netherlands.
De Witt is the second Scarlet Knight to podium finish at this year's championship and becomes the 13th medalist for a Rutgers rower at a U23 World Championships under head coach Justin Price. Earlier in this year's championship, Louise Dinard earned bronze with France's four entry. At least one Scarlet Knight has earned a medal at every U23 World Championships since 2018.
