Here is a full round up of all the matches from round one of the Eredivisie 2026/27 Season. - Follow Football-Oranje on X Cambuur 0-4 Excelsior Excelsior gave Cambuur a harsh welcome back to the Eredivisie on Friday evening. Cambuur have been quiet in the transfer window this summer with a number of young arrivals. They proved they may need a few more in as Excelsior quickly took the lead through the impressive Irakli Yegoian. Yegoian then set up Noah Naujoks for a simple second before David Garden headed in a corner to make it 3-0 at the break. Cambuur had no answer and Naujoks got another in the second half to complete a simple victory. NEC Nijmegen 1-2 Telstar NEC Nijmegen’s league campaign got off to a poor start as they were stunned by Telstar. Maybe with one eye on the second leg of their Champions League clash with Olympiacos, NEC were sloppy from the start and Patrick Brouwer netted within a minute. Brouwer then set up Rui Mendes to quickly add a second for the visitors, who looked dangerous on the counter. With Dusan Tadic starting up front, NEC offered little and it was unsurprising to see Kaj Sierhuis come on at the break. In the secod half, Tadic set up Sierhuis to pull one back in the 82nd minute. However, there was no equaliser and Telstar held on for a big victory. Go Ahead Eagles 4-1 Willem II Go Ahead Eagles came from behind to seal a comfortable victory over Willem II. On their return to the Eredivisie, Willem II took the lead in the 13th minute as Netherands U21 striker Devin Haen found the bottom corner. Soren Tengstedt equalised for the hosts after half an hour and the game then remained open with both teams having chances. However, in the second half, Go Ahead eventually ran riot with Melle Meulensteen firing them ahead before Erik Flataker and Julian Dirksen added further goals. A harsh welcome back to the top flight for Willem II, while Go Ahead make a positive start. PSV Eindhoven 2-2 Fortuna Sittard The Eredivisie champions stuttering start to the season continued as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Fortuna Sittard. After their big loss to AZ Alkmaar in the Johan Cruijff Schaal, PSV looked to get their title defence off to a good start, but they were poor from the start. Ole Romeny already had a goal disallowed before he capitalised on a bad backpass from Ryan Flamingo to make it 1-0 just before half time. Flamingo headed in an equaliser early in the second half and PSV seemed to be heading for a victory when Noah Fernandez made it 2-1. However, PSV then sat back and in the 92nd minute, Edouard Michut found the top corner to earn Fortuna Sittard a surprise point. PSV look short all over the pitch at the moment and need new signings while Fortuna Sittard looked well organised and could be heading for a positive campaign. AZ Alkmaar 2-0 ADO Den Haag AZ Alkmaar got their league campaign off to a good start as they eventually downed newly promoted ADO Den Haag. The visitors frustrated AZ from the start and managed to hold them to 0-0 at the break. The hosts had to bring on Troy Parrott and Calvin Stengs which helped see them to victory. Ro Zangelo Daal was the one who broke the deadlock in the 61st minute with a nice finish into the bottom corner. The speedy winger then set up Calvin Stengs to tap in a second shortly afterwards. A positive start for AZ, who make it two wins from two this season already, while ADO Den Haag have things to work on going forward. Sparta Rotterdam 0-1 Feyenoord In the first Rotterdam derby of the season, Feyenoord came away from Het Kasteel with a slender victory. Luciano Valente was captain for the first time and the midfielder broke the deadlock in the 35th minute with a sidefoot finish. Feyenoord remained in control of the game but they were twice given a scare in the second half by Milan Zonneveld, who scored twice for Sparta. However, both times the striker was denied by an offside. Feyenoord held on and Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side begin with a victory. Groningen 2-1 Utrecht Anthony Correia’s debut as Utrecht head coach ended with a defeat in the Euroborg. After only eight minutes, Brynjólfur Willumsson remained calm in front of goal to put Groningen in front. Both sides then had goals disallowed for offside. Early in the second half, Thom van Bergen doubled the lead for Groningen with a lovely strike into the top corner. Adrian Blake pulled one back with ten minutes left but Groningen managed to hold on for all three points. PEC Zwolle 0-2 Ajax Ajax took advantage of a red card to seal an opening weekend victory over PEC Zwolle. Marc Andre Ter Stegen made his debut in the Ajax goal but Mika Godts was forced to pull out in the warm up and was only fit enough for the bench. Ajax struggled to create chances and it was PEC Zwolle who came close in the first half with Tobias Sommer denied by Ter Stegen. PEC Zwolle gifted Ajax the advantage in the second half when Sherel Floranus was sent off for a rash challenge on Lucas Rosa. Ajax took advantage as Jorthy Mokio slotted in the opening goal. Just before the end, Julian Brandt netted his first Eredivisie goal to seal the 2-0 victory. Heerenveen 1-0 Twente Heerenveen got the better of FC Twente thanks to a single goal from Luca Oyen. Twente dropped out of the Europa League but got a confidence boosting win in the Conference League in midweek. The first half was a dull affair but the second got off to a quick start as Oyen surprised Lars Unnerstall at his near post to give the Frisians the lead. Twente then went in search of an equaliser and they threw on three strikers but Heerenveen held on to take all three points.
