Chelsea and Manchester United have both been offered the opportunity to sign Myles Lewis-Skelly as Arsenal could be tempted into selling the 19-year-old following the recent arrival of Bruno Guimaraes. Lewis-Skelly, a product of the Gunners' Hale End academy but someone who also spent time at Cobham, only signed a contract extension at the Emirates Stadium last year but is being linked with a move away this summer. The England international played 36 times for Arsenal in all competitions last term but only 19 of those came from the start. Following the arrival of Guimaraes for £75million over the weekend, Lewis-Skelly has been offered to Chelsea as well as Manchester United. Whether or not the Blues decide to make a move for Lewis-Skelly remains to be seen but sources say the versatile midfielder has been on the west London club's radar for a while now. Lewis-Skelly has started every pre-season game as a defensive midfielder in the absence of Declan Rice, Martin Zubimendi, Mikel Merino and Guimaraes. His performances have been mixed, despite impressing massively in the left eight role at the end of last season which secured him a start in the Champions League final. Chelsea have already signed 10 players - including pre-agreed deals - this summer for just over £270m. While the Blues' attention is now more on outgoings, nothing can be ruled out if an opportunity arises to add to Xabi Alonso's squad in time for the new season. Lewis-Skelly is naturally a central midfielder but also provides cover on the left-hand side of defence. Chelsea have signed Pep Chavarria, subject to official confirmation, and have Jorrel Hato as options at left back following Marc Cucurella's departure earlier in the summer. In the midfield, Alonso has Moises Caicedo, Romeo Lavia, Dario Essugo, Valentin Barco, Jordan Henderson and Enzo Fernandez. The latter of the five, Fernandez, still faces an uncertain future at Stamford Bridge but is expected to return to training this week. There is, as well, an expectation Fernandez will remain a Chelsea player for Alonso's debut season.
