AEW is bringing a familiar voice from New Japan Pro-Wrestling to its commentary desk for this week’s episode of Collision. Walker Stewart is set to make his official AEW television debut when the Sept. 5 show airs, adding an unexpected twist to the broadcast. AEW taped this week’s Collision on Sept. 2 at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center in Allen, Texas. During the taping, Stewart was spotted working alongside the AEW commentary team. PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that Stewart worked as part of the commentary team for the taping. While he has plenty of experience behind the microphone, this marks his first appearance calling a regular AEW television broadcast. Stewart currently serves as an English-language commentator for NJPW and STARDOM. He has also previously contributed as a writer for eWrestlingNews.com, giving him experience on both sides of the wrestling media desk. Walker Stewart set for first AEW Collision commentary appearance Stewart isn’t completely new to AEW. He previously joined the commentary team for the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2026 event in June, making his upcoming Collision role a return to familiar territory with a new wrinkle. However, Collision represents a different assignment from the cross-promotional Forbidden Door event. His appearance also gives AEW another experienced voice with knowledge of the Japanese wrestling scene. At this point, it remains unclear whether Stewart’s Collision role will be a one-night assignment or the beginning of a more regular relationship with AEW. The company has not confirmed any future appearances for the NJPW commentator. The Sept. 5 episode will feature several matches and title bouts as AEW continues its build toward All Out 2026. With Stewart now stepping into the broadcast booth, fans will get their first chance to hear him call a weekly AEW show — and it could be interesting to see whether this commentary cameo becomes a recurring part of the rotation. For now, Stewart’s AEW television debut is confirmed for Collision, giving the broadcast team a fresh voice while keeping the door open for what comes next.
