Former Burnley man on the move as part of old-fashioned swap deal
Ex-Claret Dwight McNeil involved in old fashioned swap deal
Former Burnley man Dwight McNeil has swapped Everton for a move to the capital as part of an old-fashioned swap deal.
The 26-year-old has signed for Crystal Palace, while former Eagles wide man Brennan Johnson has made the reverse move to Merseyside.
McNeil has penned a four-year contract at Selhurst Park, ending a four-year stay in the blue half of Liverpool.
“I'm really happy to be here and looking forward to the challenge ahead,” he said of his move.
“The lads have had some great success over the last two seasons. It’s something that I want to be a part of, so I’m really looking forward to getting started.”

McNeil scored 15 goals and produced a further 19 assists during his 128 games in all competitions for Everton.
That came after the former England Under-21 international left Turf Moor in 2022, having scored seven times in 147 appearances with Burnley.
McNeil nearly moved to Selhurst Park during the January transfer window when Palace agreed a loan-to-buy deal, but the move fell through as the required paperwork could not be completed in time, even though the winger had already passed a medical.
In a social media post, his partner Megan Sharpley had been critical of Palace, writing on Instagram: "We live in a world where everyone is aware of how big a problem mental health is.
"So, in football, why do we find it acceptable because these young men are on a lot of money and that's OK to mess and toy with their mental health and that it's just part of the job?
"To have something promised to you, to have been dragged along on an emotional rollercoaster and to be toyed with until the final minute. For that to be torn away from you at the last second with absolutely no explanation has hurt more than I can say."
