Report: Burnley trying 'very hard' to land previous West Ham and Ipswich target Burnley linked with Algerian attacking midfielder Burnley are taking serious interest in Algerian attacking midfielder Ilan Kebbal, according to reports. Journalist Alan Nixon claims the Clarets are eyeing an initial loan move for the Paris FC man, with a view to make it permanent at the end of the season. He later went on to claim Burnley are trying “very hard” to get a deal done before the September 1 transfer deadline. Ipswich Town and West Ham have previously been linked with Kebbal, who still has two years remaining on his contract in the French capital. Burnley FC have been contacted for comment. Kebbal made 29 appearances for his current club in the league last season and chipped in with nine goals and four assists. The 28-year-old, who is capable of playing on either flank or down the middle, has spent the entirety of his career in France to date, having also represented the likes of Bordeaux and Stade Reims. In a separate report, Nixon also claims Jordan James is a player of interest to Burnley, although Middlesbrough, West Ham and Wolves have also been credited with interest. The Rennes midfielder, who was previously linked with the Clarets last summer as a possible replacement for Josh Brownhill, spent last season on loan in the Championship with Leicester City. It has been suggested Rennes want to sell the Wales international this summer rather than sanction another loan and are looking for a fee of around £10m. The 22-year-old made 34 league appearances for Leicester last season, registering 11 goals and four assists. Both links come as Burnley boss Nicky Hayen admits the club have offers in a “few” players ahead of Sunday’s Championship opener against West Ham.
