When Burnley will find out Carabao Cup second round opponents after Notts County win
Burnley’s penalty shootout victory over Notts County ensured they will be in the hat for the Carabao Cup second round draw.
Max Weiss was the penalty hero as the Clarets edged past their League One opponents 4-3 on spot kicks.
It came after Nicky Hayen’s side played out a 1-1 draw during the regulation 90 minutes, with Zian Flemming levelling after the Magpies had taken a surprise first-half lead.
Burnley will shortly find out their second round opponents - here’s all you need to know about the draw:
When is the Carabao Cup second round draw?
The draw will take place on Monday, August 10 at around 7.20pm, before the final first round game between Plymouth Argyle and Exeter City. The draw will be shown live on Sky Sports, hosted by David Prutton and conducted by Jobi McAnuff and Jamie Mackie.
Though not yet confirmed by the EFL, previous draws have also been shown live on Youtube too.
When will the Carabao Cup second round games be played?
The ties will be played in the week commencing Monday, August 24, with games likely to be played on Tuesday, August 25 and Wednesday, August 26.
For Burnley, that’s in between a trip to West Brom and another away game at Norwich City.

Who can Burnley face?
The draw is still regionalised into northern and southern sections for round two, which means the Clarets will face a side in the northern half of the country.
The 11 Premier League sides not competing in Europe this season will enter the competition at this stage.
Brentford, Chelsea, Fulham, Tottenham and Ipswich Town will be in the south side of the draw while Newcastle United, Leeds United, Hull City, Nottingham Forest and Everton will almost certainly be in the northern section.
