Tottenham-linked Union SG starlet set to join Crystal Palace. Tottenham Hotspur have enjoyed an impressive window to date with six players arriving in N17. Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi, Martin Dubravka, Jan Paul van Hecke, Mateus Fernandes, and Sandro Tonali have all become a part of Roberto De Zerbi’s squad. The North London club have begun to start looking at potential departures, but they remain keen to add more depth to their defensive ranks amid speculation surrounding the futures of Cristian Romero and Djed Spence. Spurs have expressed an interest in signing Union SG right-back Anan Khalaili. The Israeli international, who can operate as a right wing-back, right-sided midfielder or right-winger, delivered six goals and as many assists across all competitions in the 2025/26 season. The 21-year-old has caught the attention of several clubs across Europe with his versatility, work rate, pace, running power and intensity. Crystal Palace win race for Union SG starlet’s signature It emerged in July that Anan Khalaili’s move to Inter Milan collapsed. The youngster came within touching distance of pulling on the Inter Milan shirt after the two clubs agreed a deal worth €25 million plus bonuses, and the player arrived in Milan for his medical, only for CONI’s failure to grant sporting clearance to kill the move. However, it looks like the Israeli wing-back is finally set to leave Union SG. According to a report from TEAMtalk, Crystal Palace have swooped in ahead of their rivals to sign Khalaili. They have reached a five-year agreement with the 21-year-old, with an option for another 12 months, while also thrashing out a fee with Union SG. The Eagles have agreed to pay €25million for the versatile defender. Khalaili joined Union SG in the summer of 2024 from Maccabi Haifa, and his contract with the club had been due to run until 2028. The Israel international was part of the Union SG side that won the Belgian league title during his first season, the club’s first in 90 years, and was then part of the squad that competed in the Champions League the next year. He is a sought-after young defender in the market, and Crystal Palace are now about to land him. The South Londoners have decisively moved to win the race for the former Maccabi Haifa man’s signature, beating competition from several clubs across Europe in the process. It is a blow for Tottenham, losing out on a versatile talent like Khalaili. Due to his ability to operate in multiple positions across the wide areas, the 21-year-old could have added valuable depth to De Zerbi’s squad for a paltry fee.
