Fabian Hurzeler issues Ibrahim Osman message to Brighton fans after double injury blow All the latest pre-season and transfer action for Brighton and Hove Albion Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler will play a waiting game with Ibrahim Osman this transfer window. Osman, 21, has looked sharp in pre-season and the winger delivered an impressive cameo during the second half of Albion's 3-0 friendly win against Roma last Saturday. Brighton signed the Ghana international from Nordsjælland in 2024 for around £16m. Osman - who is contracted until 2029 - is yet to play a competitive match for Brighton and has had loans at Feyenoord, Auxerre and Birmingham. "I'm also impressed by him so far," said Hurzeler in the press conference after the Roma match. "So let's wait how this continues and then we make the best decision for him and for the club. But overall, I'm really happy and impressed by him as well." Osman opportunity The door is ajar to make an impact at Brighton this season. First choice left winger Kaoru Mitoma is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury and is expected to miss the start of the season. The established Yankuba Minteh is also an injury concern after the Gambian hobbled off after 60 minutes against Roma. Minteh looked in discomfort as he left the field and Hurzeler said he will go for scans and be assessed. The 22-year-old is now a doubt for the start of the season. That's a problem for Brighton but an opportunity for Osman to make a claim. Who else is there? Osman is among a crop of talented young wingers hoping to make an impact this season. Tommy Watson is out of the picture for now as he agreed a season long loan at Leicester. Amario Cozier Duberry also featured in the second half against Roma and he will look to impress after his excellent loan in League One with Bolton last term. Brighton also splashed just over £20m on young Nigerian winger Zadok Yohanna, who played the final stages against Roma. Yohanna is said to be very much in the thoughts of Hurzeler for first team football this term as the Seagulls prepare for Conference League and Premier League football this campaign. Brighton academy graduate Harry Howell is also an option on the flanks. Sussex World verdict Osman's pace, power and direct running could make him the stand-out candidate for Hurzeler this season. Osman has returned to pre-season in prime condition and looks every inch an Olympic sprinter, who happens to be very good at football. Brighton signed big potential in 2024 and this could the year where Albion fans see the best of Osman.
