Ousmane Diomande should now be in England as Nottingham Forest move towards announcing his arrival from Sporting. The defender travelled on Sunday to complete the final stages of his transfer, according to A Bola. Nottingham Forest and Sporting finally have an agreement in place. Diomande will now undergo his medical after arriving in England, with a contract until 2031 waiting for him. That leaves the signature and official announcement as the final steps before the transfer is completed. The Portuguese club held a recovery session at their training centre following Saturday’s league opener against Estrela da Amadora. Diomande wasn’t involved because he was travelling to England. A Bola reported on Sunday morning that the 22-year-old was making the journey to undergo the required medical examinations and sign for Nottingham Forest. His absence from training therefore had nothing to do with fitness or Rui Borges’ plans for the week ahead. Forest announcement getting closer The deal is worth €40m (£34.7m), with Diomande set to sign a contract running until 2031.
