During the summer, Matteo Gabbia struggled with an ankle problem and it seems that it is overlapping into the season for the AC Milan defender. It wasn’t a major problem, but Gabbia struggled with a niggle in pre-season and Milan have tried to nurse the issue. Of course, this has been seen by the fact that he’s yet to play more than 20 minutes in Serie A this season. Read SempreMilan ad-free and get access to exclusive news. Click here for a free trial! Unfortunately, it seems the problem has arisen once again, with the defender struggling, according to reports this morning. Gabbia struggling again Gazzetta dello Sport writes that the defender underwent treatments on Wednesday for the ankle injury which is still affecting him; then, he will take advantage of the rest day offered to the team by Ruben Amorim today. The ideal would be a return against the Bianconeri, as MilanNews relays, but that is not a given. Instead, it seems that he could in fact miss another game, or maybe two. He needs to recover fully from this ankle problem. If he doesn’t, it could become a bigger issue. It is worth noting that these issues are part of why Amorim has reinstated Tomori, given there is already a potential problem with depth emerging… maybe another defender should’ve arrived.
