Last night, Cesc Fabregas offered some praise to the expectations of AC Milan and their Serie A rivals, after a comment from Ruben Amorim.
In recent seasons, Como have been on a dramatic rise. It’s difficult to see any other club like them in Europe, both in terms of their rise to date and expected future rise. They’ve been backed heavily and now sit in the Champions League.

Whether it can be called a fairytale is something else, but whilst they’re rubbing shoulders with Italy’s elite, they’re not there yet. Indeed, they still have a way to go before the expectations placed upon them match those at the top of Italian football, as Amorim suggested recently.
Fabregas responds to Amorim
Rather than it being another situation like was seen with Massimiliano Allegri last season – let’s not open that can of worms again – Fabregas was courteous when replying to a question about Amorim’s words on Como, as MilanNews relays.
Amorim said that there’s a different kind of pressure at Como. Do you think he did it to ease the pressure on the first day?
“Every year the pressure increases, and that’s natural. I understand what he’s saying—maybe Milan, Juve, Inter—have to win all the time. We try to have the highest demands, but because we put them in.
“Every time I feel like you guys put a little more in, too, and we accept it, take it, and move forward slowly.”
