Vitor Pereira could be set for a return to management in Türkiye with Trabzonspor after leaving Nottingham Forest in the summer. Sabah, via Asist Analiz, report that the former Nottingham Forest boss is in talks with the Turkish club about a move. He is open to returning to Türkiye at this stage in his career. The 58-year-old is currently out of work after leaving Nottingham Forest in the summer. He had been expected to continue at the club this season after he helped them to avoid relegation last season. Glasner preferred However, Nottingham Forest elected to head in a different direction. They appointed Oliver Glasner on a big deal when he left Crystal Palace. That left Pereira to look for another job elsewhere. That could now be in Türkiye. Sabah report that the Portuguese boss in talks with Trabzonspor. Crucially he is open to a move back to the Super Lig this season. There is no indication of what stage those talks are in at this moment in time. But the Turkish club have had a very Premier League focused summer. They notably signed Mohamed Salah – so hiring a former Premier League coach would not be surprising. Knows Türkiye well Vitor Pereira also knows Türkiye well. He was previously manager at Fenerbahce for 25 games in 2021, enjoying a points tally of 1.6 per game during his time there. That was his second spell at the club after a previous 61 game spell – and 2.07 ppg ratio – from 2015 to 2016. In the years since that second spell, he’s enjoyed time in Brazil, Saudi Arabia and then England most recently with Wolves and Nottingham Forest. Now he could be set for a third shot at Türkiye with Trabzonspor should talks progress positively. For now, he’s simply shared his willingness to make the move after Trabzonspor made early overtures.
