Tottenham are plotting a sensational swoop for a Galatasaray star.
Roberto De Zerbi will be hoping to mastermind Tottenham Hotspur to a place in Europe next season, after the club has spent in excess of £230m in the transfer window thus far.
The Italian boss is desperate to add to his forward department amid the uncertainty surrounding Richarlison’s future. Dominic Solanke endured an injury-plagued 2025/26 campaign, struggling with ankle and thigh issues that hampered his impact. And after Randal Kolo Muani left the club following the expiry of his loan, De Zerbi’s requirement for a new No.9 has only increased.
Tottenham plot sensational swoop for Galatasaray star
Spurs have been linked with Galatasaray star Victor Osimhen lately as they look to bring in a new striker to compete with Solanke for a place in the first XI. It is understood that the North Londoners recently submitted a £55m bid for Victor Osimhen, which was quickly rebuffed by Galatasaray. The Turkish champions value the Nigerian international at £65m, with the player keen to play in the Premier League.
Now, according to an exclusive revelation by Italian journalist Damiano Er Faina on X, Tottenham are going all in for Victor Osimhen. They are “all in” for the Nigerian, who is rated as one of the best strikers in the world.
Osimhen has been a prolific goalscorer in his career. He netted 76 goals in 133 appearances for Napoli across four seasons, before making a high-profile loan move to Galatasaray in 2024. After a sensational debut season that yielded 37 goals in 41 appearances, Galatasaray splashed €75 million to sign the Super Eagles star last summer. And he repaid the faith with 22 goals in 33 appearances in an injury-curtailed campaign, firing Galatasaray to the Super Lig title again.
Osimhen would transform Spurs’ attack
Known for his unique mix of pace, power, physicality and aerial ability, the 27-year-old would instantly enhance Tottenham’s attack. Osimhen would add goals and cutting edge to De Zerbi’s side in the final third, whilst being an upgrade on both Solanke and Richarlison. The former Napoli ace is at the peak of his powers and would be a difference-maker for the North Londoners.
The caveat remains with his fitness, as the African marksman has struggled with hamstring, calf and ankle problems all these years. That said, though, if De Zerbi can manage his fitness well, keep him fresh and firing, Osimhen has the potential to transform Tottenham’s attack. But, to bring him in, not only will Spurs have to spend a fortune, but also fulfil his eye-watering wages. He currently earns €360,577 per week, excluding bonuses, at Galatasaray.
Given how the Spurs bosses have moved this transfer window, it wouldn’t be surprising if they decide to break their wage structure to sign Osimhen.
