John Cena has offered a fresh update on the WWE tournament carrying his name, and it appears the project is much further along than fans may have realized. While the company has kept the finer details under wraps, Cena says there’s only one thing left to do — pull back the curtain. The John Cena Classic was announced at WWE Backlash in May. However, WWE has yet to officially reveal when the tournament will take place or how the event will be presented. Reports have suggested a late-2026 target, though no date has been confirmed. Speaking to Metro, Cena made it clear that the tournament itself is ready to go. The former WWE Champion also revealed that WWE wants him to keep quiet until the company makes its formal announcement. “I’m all in on the John Cena Classic. All the details are figured out. They want me to keep it a secret until we give the announcement,” Cena admitted. John Cena compared the situation to a new car waiting for its unveiling. “It’s like a new model of a car that we do this big reveal for. The car is ready.
