The Cleveland Browns are trying to start the 2026 NFL season on the right note. It’s been a rough road for years. While fans are usually distracted with quarterback controversies and other issues, today’s issue is Assistant GM Catherine Hickman’s attire for a press conference. Dressing for success used to be engrained into all professionals, but given Hickman’s attire, that was not a top thought on her mind. It is even worse that she is one of the few female NFL executives presenting herself this way. Maybe it would be okay if it was a Cleveland Browns licensed product. However, it says “Los Angeles made me do it” which is painfully ironic since the Browns traded their franchise superstar Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams in the offseason. One fan thought that it looked like she was painting her house and showed up to chitchat. It is not as though there are not at least a dozen NFL-licensed Cleveland Browns shirts at her disposal in the building that she could do a quick wardrobe change. What was she thinking? That may be true, but failure to handle simple details for public relations purposes does not bode well for more difficult decisions and actions.
