Sheffield, UK - 8th August, 2026 - The B. Braun Sheffield Sharks announce the signing of Sean Bairstow for the 2026-27 Super League Basketball season. The 25-year-old forward, hailing from Brisbane, Australia, joins the Sharks for the 2026-27 season. Bairstow has spent his two seasons as a professional in New Zealand and his native Australia; in the NZ NBL (Whai and Auckland Tuatara) as well as for the New Zealand Breakers in the Australian NBL. Last season, he averaged 6.8 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists across a combined 38 games for Auckland Tuatara and New Zealand Breakers. Sean began his college career in the USA at Utah State, where he spent four seasons before transferring to VCU for his fifth and final season in the American college system, where he averaged 10 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists in the 2023-24 NCAA D1 season. Sean is excited to be joining the Sharks for 2026-27, “I’m really pleased to have signed for the Sharks for the new season. I’m excited to play in the UK and experience something new.
