Thanasis Antetokounmpo is returning to Greece to continue his basketball career with Aris BC, joining the Thessaloniki club after six seasons with the Milwaukee Bucks. The 34-year-old has signed a two-year contract with Aris, with the club holding an option for a third season. Antetokounmpo spent the majority of his NBA career alongside his younger brother Giannis at Milwaukee, where he played 232 regular-season games. All but two of those appearances came with the Bucks. He was part of Milwaukee’s 2021 NBA championship-winning team and averaged 7.2 minutes per game during his six seasons with the franchise. Antetokounmpo did not play in the NBA during the 2024-25 season after suffering an Achilles injury. He has remained involved with the Greek national team and is currently part of the squad competing in the qualification process for the 2027 FIBA Basketball World Cup. His move to Aris will also reunite him with another brother, Kostas Antetokounmpo, who joined the club earlier this season on a contract running until 2029.
