Gutekunst dismissed the trade rumors completely and expressed confidence in the edge rushers already on the roster. In response to a question about doing business with Arizona, Gutekunst did not mince words. “No one from our organization has had a conversation about Josh with anybody from Arizona,” Gutekunst said. “Some things come out of thin air, somebody’s making stuff up, because that’s never ever happened.” Only four edge defenders will be on the 53-man roster for the Packers at the start of the regular season: Lukas Van Ness, Barryn Sorrell, Brenton Cox Jr., and rookie Dani Dennis-Sutton. Parsons begins the season on PUP along with Collin Oliver. Additionally, the Packers added undrafted rookie Nyjalik Kelly to the practice squad, as well as veteran Arron Mosby. Even with a thin roster, Gutekunst expressed genuine confidence in the six-man edge defender group. “I’m really excited about the group we have,” Gutekunst mentioned. “We only kept four on the active roster, but on the practice squad we were able to keep Nyjalik as well as Arron Mosby.
