Josh Johnson is signed to Bengals’ practice squad The 40-year-old QB is staying in Cincinnati for now. So it was always going to be tough for 40-year-old veteran Josh Johnson to make the roster. Still, he did everything he could to show he’s still got it, absolutely balling out in his last two preseason games against the Chicago Bears and Philadelphia Eagles. Johnson finished the preseason completing 27 of 42 passes (64.3%) for 312 yards, two touchdowns, and zero interceptions. He was in command and accurate those last two games. But that wasn’t enough for him to get signed to another squad’s roster. Now we learn that he’ll remain in Cincinnati after being signed to the Bengals’ practice squad. If Burrow were to go down, Johnson would provide great insurance behind Flacco, allowing the Bengals to keep a level of consistency at QB that they hadn’t seen before they traded for Flacco in the middle of last season.
