“Negotiations weren't easy” - Agent happy with Leeds United transfer after hitches

Torino signed Leeds United‘s Lucas Perri some days ago. The deal came through after a series of hold-ups but his agent has expressed satisfaction for the move.
Sport Witness regularly covered how the Whites pushed an auction for the keeper. Marseille were interested and that ecnouraged the Turin club to make an improved offer for the Brazilian.
At the end, Torino signed the player on loan with an option to buy of €16m.
Now, his agent has opened up about the deal.
No regret about transfer
Leonardo Cornacini spoke to Tuttomercatoweb and was asked what convinced Perri to join Torino.
He praised the Granata for how they approached the entire saga, saying: “The way this situation was handled from the beginning was impeccable. Of all the teams we spoke to, the Torino professionals were always honest and clear. All the dedication and commitment shown by Torino were crucial to our decision.”
Cornacini also clarified that the deal wasn’t easy but everyone is happy now.
“As always, negotiations weren’t easy; everyone was defending their own interests. However, the most important thing is that in the end, we were all happy and in agreement.”
The agent also revealed that three other Italian teams were keen on Perri. Further, he noted that the keeper will also help young players develop in Turin.
“This is a situation that only time will clarify. However, we know the quality of the other goalkeepers, and I believe Lucas will help the youngsters develop. Ultimately, the most important thing is for Torino to succeed.”
Our take: Good move for Perri
Playing regularly is all that matters for the 28-year-old. He fell out of favour at Leeds United in the second half of last season and badly needed a change.
At Torino, he will be the senior starter. He has young keepers like Diego Mascardi behind him in the pecking order and they will learn a lot from his experience.
The Turin club are embarking on a new project under Ignazio Abate. It presents a big chance for Perri to convince the new manager and become a dressing room leader.
