NFL Stats: 6 Historic Milestones Within Reach This Season

· Matt Johnson · 2026-08-08 · nguồn gốc

The 2026 NFL season is fast approaching, and while there is more young talent around the league than ever, we are also reaching the end of an era for some all-time greats who are either retiring or in the twilight of their careers. With that comes an opportunity to pass some statistical milestones set by Hall of Famers. Let’s take a look at some NFL stats where current Hall of Famers could be surpassed by active players this upcoming season. Aaron Rodgers: Third-Most Passing TDs in NFL History Already a four-time NFL MVP with 10 Pro Bowl selections, Aaron Rodgers enters his final season as one of the best quarterbacks in NFL history. Reuniting with head coach Mike McCarthy, the future Hall of Fame quarterback has a strong chance of moving up the all-time leaderboard in passing touchdowns. Rodgers (527 passing touchowns) is just 13 shy of surpassing Peyton Manning for third on the all-time list. That’s a very doable number to reach and we think he could surpass Manning in November, potentially even on Nov. 15 against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday Night Football. Related: Why The Steelers Made a Mistake Hiring Mike McCarthy Derrick Henry: 6th-Most Career Rushing Yards, 3rd-Most TDs Derrick Henry is the best running back of his era, and his longevity at his position is unmatched in the National Football League. Ahead of his age-32 season, Henry already holds the NFL records for most games with 200-plus rushing yards (seven), most seasons with at least 12 rushing touchdowns (seven) and most seasons with 1,500-plus rushing yards (five). Entering 2026, he ranks 10th in all-time rushing yards (13,018) and he will almost certainly overtake Eric Dickerson (13,259), Jerome Bettis (13,662), LaDainian Tomlinson (13,684) and Curtis Martin (14,101) to become the sixth all-time leading rusher in the NFL. Likewise, Henry (122 rushing touchdowns) will also surpass Marcus Allen in Week 1 for the third-most rushing touchdowns in league history. Davante Adams: 6th-Most Receiving TDs in NFL History Before touching on the milestone Davante Adams could reach this season, it is worth revisiting the NFL stats he put up in his first two seasons. Some viewed Adams, the 53rd overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, as a bit of a bust after he totaled just 929 receiving yards with four touchdowns in his first two seasons with the Green Bay Packers. Over the next decade, he put up 113 receiving touchdowns, including a league-high 14 in 2025 with the Los Angeles Rams. Entering his age-34 campaign, Adams is still an outstanding red-zone threat. Adams will surpass Larry Fitzgerald (121) for the sixth-most receiving touchdowns ever, and if he can come anywhere close to replicating his touchdown totals from last season, Adams could even surpass Marvin Harrison (128) for fifth on the all-time leaderboard. Travis Kelce: 5th-Most Receptions in NFL History There’s an outside chance that the 2026 NFL season will be Travis Kelce‘s last before he retires. Before he leaves behind pro football, Taylor Swift’s husband will add another milestone to his legendary career with the Kansas City Chiefs. Currently sitting with the eighth-most receptions in NFL history (1,080), it’s a virtual certainty that Kelce surpasses Tim Brown (1,094 receptions), Cris Carter (1,101) and Marvin Harrison (1,101) to firmly place himself fifth all-time. He’d need to play much longer to surpass Jason Witten (1,228) and catching Tony Gonzalez (1,325) is out of the question. Calais Campbell: Most Tackles for Loss in NFL History A majority of NFL stats on this list have been tracked throughout the league’s history, but that is not the case for tackles for loss. TFLs weren’t officially tracked until 1999, so the all-time leaderboard excludes a lot of Hall of Famers. With that said, we might see NFL history made in 2026. Making his return to the Baltimore Ravens, defensive lineman Calais Campbell (196 TFLs) is just seven shy of passing Terrell Suggs (202) for the most ever. Of note, Campbell recorded nine TFLs last season and 12 the year prior. Von Miller: 9th-Most Sacks in NFL History Edge rusher Von Miller is still a free agent as of early August, so climbing the all-time sack leaderboard would require a team to sign him. That seems likely to happen considering he netted 9 sacks this past year. As long as he gets to play, Miller (138.5 career sacks) is a near-guarantee to surpass Terrell Suggs (139 sacks, 12th) and Jason Taylor (139.5 sacks). He’s also just 3.5 sacks shy of moving past Michael Strahan (141.5) for the 10th-most sacks in NFL history and, of note, Miller is just 4 sacks shy of overtaking Lawrence Taylor (142 sacks) for 9th on the unofficial all-time list.
