4th Annual Arthur Ashe Kids Day held at Lyons Park Tennis Center

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - Young people had a chance to play tennis in Mobile Saturday and get a history lesson at the same time.
The event marked the fourth annual Arthur Ashe Kids Day at Lyons Park Tennis Center.
Besides tennis, the event included an essay-writing contest and art contest focusing on the life of Arthur Ashe.
Ashe was an American tennis player who won three Grand Slam titles in the late 1960s and 1970s.
Ashe was the first Black man to win Wimbledon, the U.S. Open and the Australian Open.
He was also a civil rights activist and humanitarian.
The event was sponsored by the city of Mobile Parks and Recreation Department.
