Heartache for the Rebel Rock crew at Road America being involved in someone elses accident Sunday, August 30, 2026 Racing as the fifth round of the season, the Frank DePew and Robin Liddell driven #71 entry was one of a twenty-four car entry for the return to racing after a long summer break for the SRO America ran series. Unfortunately, the opening minutes were blighted with two full course yellows – the first for a single vehicle contacting the concrete wall on the opening lap. The second came on the second racing lap of the restart when another solo car made heavier frontal contact with another part of the outer wall bringing out a further and more prolonged Safety Car intervention for the clean-up operation. One of those cars was the #71 Aston Martin of DePew who came round the kink to be met by of just cloud kicked up by the first spinning Porsche and then by others in their attempts to miss the car. We understand that all the affected drivers were able to exit their vehicles unaided but no further details as to the extent of damage to the car was available – other than it was a race ending incident for all concerned.
